SUBARU ANNOUNCES PRICING FOR ALL-NEW 2014 FORESTER

? Pricing for the popular Subaru Forester starts at $21,995
? All-wheel drive Forester priced below competitive front-wheel drive vehicles
? 2014 Forester also available with new Subaru Eyesight and STARLINK technology

January 18, 2013, Cherry Hill, N.J., - Subaru of America, Inc. today announced pricing for the all-new 2014 Forester. The 2014 Forester 2.5i model will be available in base, Premium, Limited and top-line Touring versions. Pricing for the Forester begins at $21,995 for the base model 2.5i with a six-speed manual transmission. The turbocharged Forester 2.0XT will be offered in the Premium and Touring versions, with the Premium trim offered at $27,995. These prices all reflect MSRP before the $825 destination charge.

As with all previous Forester models, the 2014 version comes standard with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a distinction from competitive models that come with front-wheel drive as standard and offer all-wheel drive as an extra-cost option. The 2014 Forester will lead the segment in all-wheel drive fuel economy, with the 2.5i model achieving manufacturer's fuel economy estimates of 24 mpg city / 32 mpg highway / 27 mpg combined. Those figures also compare well with competitors that feature front-wheel drive.

SUBARU PERFORMS STRONGLY IN RIGOROUS NEW IIHS CRASH TEST

December 20, 2012, Cherry Hill, N.J., -  Continuing its strong performance in crash testing, the 2013MY Subaru Forester, Subaru Impreza, Subaru XV Crosstrek, Subaru Legacy, Subaru BRZ, Subaru Outback, and Subaru Tribeca vehicles have received the 2013 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick award (TSP).

Furthermore, the 2013 Subaru Legacy and Subaru Outback are the first Subaru vehicles to have been tested for the Institute's 2013 "TSP+" award which requires good ratings for occupant protection in at least 4 of 5 IIHS evaluations, with no less than acceptable in any test. Both vehicles are now rated as TSP+.

SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. REPORTS BEST NOVEMBER SALES IN COMPANY HISTORY

  • November 2012 sales increase 60 percent over November 2011
  • Subaru year-to-date sales increase 28 percent
  • Best November for Outback, Legacy and Impreza models

December 3, 2012, Cherry Hill, N.J., -  Subaru of America, Inc. today reported 28,206 sales for the month of November, a 60 percent increase over November 2011. The company also announced record-breaking annual sales of 299,788 vehicles which represent a 28 percent increase over 2011 and just 222 vehicles short of achieving 300,000 sales for the first time in company history. Following the November close, on Dec. 1, 2012, Subaru achieved the 300,000th sales milestone for the first time in company history.

Outback, Legacy and Impreza models experienced the best November sales month in history. Year-to-date sales for Impreza have increased 184 percent over 2011. Year-to-date sales for newly-refreshed Outback and Legacy models have increased 16 percent and 14 percent respectively. The new BRZ and XV Crosstrek models also added 2,587 incremental sales for the month of November.

SUBARU INTRODUCES ALL-NEW 2014 FORESTER® CROSSOVER SUV AT LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW

November 28, 2012, Los Angeles, Calif., -  Subaru of America, Inc. today introduced the all-new 2014 Forester, the fourth generation of its popular all-wheel drive crossover SUV, at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2014 Forester debuts a bolder exterior design and roomier interior, along with improved performance and higher fuel economy across the line. The 2014 Forester arrives in Subaru dealerships next spring.

The five-passenger 2014 Subaru Forester is a total re-design of the acclaimed crossover SUV that's built a strong reputation for safety, performance, dependability and versatility. With virtually the same footprint as the outgoing model, the 2014 Forester offers expanded room, comfort and utility. A new 250-horsepower 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged BOXER engine leads the line, which will also include models powered by a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter naturally aspirated BOXER engine.

Subaru Team Concludes 2012 Global RallyCross Championship Season with Two Cars in the Final

November 6, 2012, Cherry Hill, N.J., -  Subaru of America, Inc., The Subaru PUMA RallyCross team was short on luck at the final round of the Global RallyCross Championship (GRC), held Oct. 30 in Las Vegas, where on-track incidents and stiff competition kept the Subaru PUMA squad off the podium. Regardless, the team had a strong finish with team drivers Dave Mirra and Bucky Lasek earning hard fought spots in the Final where they finished sixth and seventh respectively. Team leader Sverre Isachsen missed out on reaching the Final after being on the receiving end of several on-track incidents with other competitors in the heat of competition.

The technical 0.6-mile GRC track was constructed outside at the SEMA show, the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world, where the GRC was showcased to the automotive industry in spectacular fashion. The course featured both dirt and tarmac sections and a massive dirt crossover gap-jump. The GRC combines the most entertaining aspects of circuit racing, off-road racing and rally competition and features wheel-to-wheel racing with highly modified production-based all-wheel-drive cars. GRC events feature multi-car heats where top finishers advance to a ten-car Final.

Subaru of America, Inc. Sets September Sales Record

-- Subaru continues ten month streak of month-over-month sales gains

-- September sales 32% increase over 2011

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Subaru of America, Inc. today reported sales of 27,683 vehicles for the month of September, a 32 percent increase over September 2011.  The company also reported year-to-date sales of 245,463, which represents an impressive 25.5 percent increase over prior year.

September sales for newly-refreshed Outback and Legacy models have increased 39 percent and 31 percent, respectively, over September 2011. Also, September sales for Impreza were up 211 percent over September 2011; year-to-date sales for Impreza have increased 155 percent.

Subaru Road Racing Team Prepares for Penultimate Round of the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge

Phoenixville, PA. ? Sept. 6, 2012 ? The Subaru Road Racing Team (SRRT) travels to Monterey, Calif. this weekend to compete in the ninth round of the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Having been over a month since their last race, SRRT has put the time to good use preparing for the final two events of their season.  SRRT will travel first to Monterey before heading back east to the season-closer at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn.

 

Team drivers Andrew "A.J." Aquilante and Bret Spaude are set to contest both events with their #35 Subaru Impreza WRX STI in the Grand Sports class of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC).

 

The team's season so far has been highlighted by a win at New Jersey Motorsports Park and a third place finish at the Homestead-Miami Speedway round.

 

"We've run competitive lap times at the four races since our win at NJMP," noted SRRT Principal Joe Aquilante, whose Phoenix Performance crew prepares the Subaru race cars. "Our WRX STI has led a fair amount of race laps this season, and we're shining a positive light on the capabilities of both the Subaru WRX STI and our two team drivers."

 

Added James Han, motorsports marketing manager for Subaru of America, Inc., "As much as every race in this championship is important, these last two rounds of the season will be pivotal for our program in an effort to regain momentum and propel us into next season.  Our team has developed the #35 SRRT WRX STI into a legitimate championship contender, and our focus will be to capitalize on its available performance, keep our pit stops tidy, and optimize the pit stop strategies made available to us."

 

This weekend's race, on a 2.238-mile road course, will see practice and qualifying on Friday and Saturday, Sept.7-8, with the 2 ½-hour race taking the green flag Saturday at 5:30pm ET.
