For its 50th US Anniversary, Subaru Plans Special Editions Across the Board

To be sure, 2017 saw energizing refreshes to the new Subaru car and SUV lineup, from the new Legacy sedan to high performers like Subaru WRX and its STI variants all the way to the all-terrain Crosstrek and Outback. But the skinny on what's to come is just that – sparse. Needless to say, for the enthusiasts at auto news and review authority Motor1, the anticipation is mounting. What will it all mean not only for Fairborn but also for our Subie friends and neighbors in nearby Springfield, OH?

What we do know for sure is that 2018 will not only see the addition of a stellar new three-row, seven-to-eight-passenger SUV, the new Subaru Ascent. Nor will the model year merely promise a new plug-in hybrid, whose identity remains an exciting mystery. Even a special 500-vehicle edition of Subaru WRX, the new STI Type RA, and Subaru BRZ, a tS model, aren't all to which we have to look forward. Subaru also plans to show its hallmark love with a showcase of special 50th Anniversary editions, available in a new shade with special badging as well as offering a few exciting upgrades to its high-level trims. What's more, in true commitment to its Confidence in Motion creed, our automaker also plans to donate 50 vehicles to charity.

More details are to come, and for them, we'll all have to stay tuned for the Chicago Auto Show in February 2018. Until then, the Subaru experience waits for no updates. Take the short drive from Springfield to visit us here at Wagner Subaru today, and you can see all that the Six-Star logo has to offer with a test drive we're sure you'll remember!
